Help With Economics Papers
Harley - Davidson Inc. Motorcycle Industry
... motorcycles and
accessories on a worldwide basis, handling international trade through foreign
distributors and domestic sales through franchised outlets. Industry sales of
motorcycles were shrinking in the early l990s because of the recession and the
competition from computers and electronic products decreasing consumers'
discretionary income.
Sales of accessories and parts make up 36% of total retail sales and is a
viable area for producers to explore because people want something to
differentiate their bikes. Previously, motorcycles were viewed as a cheap means
of transportation. By 1992, they came to be v ...

Current Grading Systems Are Inadequate
... better grade because
in the end whether I get a 95 or a 75 it is all at least satisfactory by
some ones standards. This laxness in grading has allowed me to flounder
all throughout my academic career so far without having to put forth any
effort on my part.
When a student receives a grade from one of their teachers a lot of
times they get a number grade saying that they received a certain
percentage of credit for an assignment. If a student receives a grade of a
95 then they have fulfilled 95% of the total possible credit. A grade of
95 in most cases is equal to the letter grade of an A. When a student ...

The Automobile Tax
... even more difficult to collect. The members feel that getting rid of the tax and slightly raising property taxes could greatly reduce this collection problem.
Not only would this idea reduce collection problems, but it would also save Dallas residents money on their taxes. Saving money isn’t the key issue that members are focusing on though. The issue at hand that the city council members are focusing on is one of equity.
This new raise in property taxes will help Texans to save money and also to help reduce the problems created by the collection of automobile taxes. I definitely believe the people are all going ...

Employee Empowerment
... or organizational level. The best procedure is to take this process one step at a time. At each stage, managers and workers will be testing each other in terms of honesty, openness and trustworthiness. Managers must learn to trust people, respect them and earn their trust. As trust develops, each employee needs to acquire more knowledge and skills, accept increasing responsibility and be committed to the success of the organization. Empowerment requires a high level of commitment and it is reached through this process of growing trust.

Web Advertising – Is It Really Worth It?
... identified and how these segments were reached. Interactivity allows the opportunity to track individual customer’s one at a time and to build individual relationships with each. The main challenge that does and will continue to plague advertisers in the future will be persuading the viewer to try the service or product. Interactivity has three core characteristics:
I. Offers much more information than a television advertisement.
II. Requires the conventional copywriting skills combined with those of the direct marketer to turn the browsing viewers into sales prospects.
III. The emphasis, simply due the nature ...

The History Of Linen Manufacturing
... the manufacture of linen was allowed to expand into the most important industry of that time in Scotland.
With the advances in agriculture, Scotland was moving away from living at the subsistence level and moving along into the agrarian revolution. This allowed for urbanisation and greater numbers of labourers. Since the farm no longer needed as many workers to survive, people had to find other means of work. This allowed for the availability of cheap labour. Another source of labour was women. Many would spin or weave part-time in addition to their farm or housework. Even with the development of new technology ...

The Advantages And Disadvantages Of A Market Economy.
... government.
In a market economy, the advantages are normally aimed towards the
middle/upper class in a community. This is why we normally find them in richer
communities (i.e. England, USA). The concept of a market economy is to allow
people to get through life by themselves. Government usually does little to
change the economy, and, the control is given to the people with the money, or,
rather, the people with the businesses. The main people in such an economy are
usually the consumers, the producers, the owners of private property, and, the
government. These are the people with the power. The whole system ...

Budget 97
... the rewards of 40 months of strict financial management. With the Federal
deficit dropping over the last few years, the Liberals feel that they can
balance the budget in the next two years. This is important because it will
allow the government to halt their foreign borrowing to finance the deficit.
This greatly helps the credibility of Canada and puts the country's destiny back
into domestic palms. With this said, Martin announced no new tax increases,
although the raise in the Pension Plan could be considered a hidden tax increase.
Martin announced no new spending cuts in this budget although cuts made in

World Populations And Development
... food supply (and surplus) led to the
development of new professions, to labor specialization and ultimately to the
stratification of these societies. Improved conditions of life led to somewhat
longer life spans. Nevertheless population growth remained low due to high
infant mortality rates. The impact of the neolithic revolution was not as much
on immediate population growth (even though it did have a long term impact on
population growth) as on the material and spiritual development of the human
race. It is widely regarded as the beginning of civilization. Industrial
revolution was another process of change. It ...

The History Of Phamaceutical Compounding
... the pharmacist as
a compounder of medications and the physician as the therapist.
In the 1930's and 1940's, approximately 60 percent of all
medications dispensed were compounded. Then in the 1950s and 1960s, with
the creation of commercial drug manufacturers, compounding declined. It was
during this time that a pharmacist, known as a compounder or apothecary,
became known as a dispenser of manufactured drugs. In the 1980's and now in
the 1990's, patients and doctors are realizing the need for specific doses
and customized medications. Today, almost 43,000 compounded dosage forms
are dispensed each day. In t ...
