Rethinking The Watchtowers
... to copy
everything by hand. (Today, photocopying and even computer modem transfers
are becoming de rigueur.) Always, we were admonished to copy "every dot
and comma", making an exact transcription of the original, since any
variation in the ceremony might cause major problems for the magician.
Seldom, if ever, did anyone pause to consider where these rituals came from
in the first place, or who composed them. Most of us, alas, did not know
and did not care. It was enough just to follow the rubrics and do the
rituals as prescribed.
But something brought me to an abrupt halt in my copying frenzy. I

What I Would Place In A Time Capsule
... would be music. Music is one of the
most influential forms of art, and has brought delight, sadness, love, and
despair to individuals worldwide. I would include a compilation of the
most popular and the most controversial music of the present era, and some
background information on the songs and artists. Song lyrics, like poetry,
can go beyond the written words of a book or a story, and give an in depth
prospective on people and their lives.
Guiding the new information and technology of today, computers
serve as the most useful tool for teaching and productivity across the
globe. With the aid of computers ...

Personal Writing: The Day Of Surprise
... thought I previously had. It might seem funny to some that I held
that one day with such great esteem, but to me it was unlike any other
holiday. On Valentines Day I felt loved by everyone. On that day, I would
obtain the card that I had picked out from my father. Classmates would
give everyone Valentine cards. Some extremely generous kids would even
attach candy to the cards. It didn't matter if you hated each other, on
Valentines Day everyone put aside their differences and even presented
cards to the children nobody liked. That one day of love seemed to unify
the worst of foes through love and forgiveness. ...

Creative Writing: In An Oldster's Mind
... count the number of wrinkles on my
forehead. They remind me the number of inerasable past events that I had
involved in. Rapidly, I climb on the bed. Bed is my lovely place. I call it, the
gymnasium.
I used to roll on my bed. Whenever my mind cannot function or do not
know what should do next, I would roll, roll and roll. This time is unusual
because my head is crashing the fence of the bed. It is not much painful. The
crash stops me rolling but starts me getting recall of my friend, Angus. At a
time, my brain is working like a computer loading an enormous file. A picture is
appearing - a guy is walking towards me ...

Creative Story: Dorko
... gets dark out. We could stage the perfect act of random violence.
Where are you going? Stop running!"
Dorko stood in line for about a half hour. Not because of the lunchtime
rush, but he just didn't know to move forward. Finally, after a nice shove from
an angry customer, Dorko had his chance at the register.
"Hello, how are you doing today?" asks Dorko.
"You know, it's a funny thing. I was feeling just fine, but now I want to
lose my lunch," replies a bald, fat, sorry, weight impaired lady behind the
counter. "Well, what will it be?"
"What will what be?"
"Hello? Are there any con ...

My Truck
... not get vacuumed for month at a time. I would come home from school
and find my room clean and vacuumed!! When I saw what had happened to my
blocks I got mad, I wouldn't eat dinner that night. The next time I
refused to let her move them and I got into a lot of tantrums over this.
My mom tried to draw the positioning of the blocks onto graph paper, so she
could put them back later, but it did not work out. The trucks and the
blocks just continued to get me into trouble.

The Renaissance Man
... because of this that I feel
influenced; it is his insatiable appetite for new challenges. His success
in life, for me, acts as a guide which is use to lead me through my own life.
Coming to this country at the fragile age of five, not knowing one
word of English, he has become a well known figure in his field of work.
Armenia, the origin of my family, is where my father was born seventy-seven
years ago. His very poor family fled from their town, which was in Turkey,
to Everett, Massachusetts in nineteen twenty-eight. They lived several
years in this suburb of Boston, until they were able to move to Have ...

Personal Writing: A Schoolyard Lesson
... into the kitchen and snatched my
lunch box off the counter. Soon I was out the door and on to face my first
day at my new school.
After defeating the labyrinth of streets that we call our
neighborhood, and meeting my first crossing guard; I made my way into the
school. It was quite crowded , but I knew where I was headed. I proceeded
up the stairs and down the hall to room 212, where I sat down in the front
row. I turned around and took a quick peak at the class; scanning the room
for someone to talk to. When I saw no opportunities I began to get a bit
timid, but as soon as the bell rang I felt all right.

Creative Writing: Manifest Function
... knew a bribe would get them into a passing the law kinda
mood.
Some of the Manifest functions John saw was the preservation of game
that would be brought about if he could stop hunting for profit by taking the
game off the menus at the near by restaurants. However latent functions occurred
with the passing of the law, the amount of people who suffered food poisoning
from the meat cooked at the restaurants went down.
However latent dysfunction's occurred, somewhere ville, their neighbor to
the east, who's economy was propelled by their firearms and ammunition industry
suddenly had no customers, and promptly ...
