My Vacation In Acapulco Mexico
... cuisine. The entertainment provided in the restaurant during and after the buffet was de- lightful. A ten minute introduction to the Mexican culture was followed by an intriguing native dance, performed by a man dressed in an authentic looking costume consisting of only a rawhide g-string with a short apron front. His sandals had leather cords winding halfway up his legs. This dance depicted a story of a hunter and his prey. It was narrated by a woman who was also in costume. Brightly dressed Mexican men were beating drums and banging sticks providing the sound effects for the story. This was truly a great beg ...

The Gold Fish And The Fisherman
... "Yes dear," Ko replied.
"Then why didn't you answer me? Some day you're going to drive me
crazy", said Jean.
"I was waiting for you to finish talking. Don't be so angry. I'm
leaving right now", said Ko.
Ko quickly got dressed and left for the harbour. On his way to the
harbour he met his good friend `Sun'. As they were walking down the trail
to their fishing boats they started a conversation.
"Hey, today's weather is very good eh? I bet there will be a lot of
fish," said Sun.
"It's hard to say nowadays. During this season we can't tell if there
will be any fish," replied Ko. ...

One Afternoon
... had. Curiosity held us together better than a double-wrapped bungee cord. Our minds were very similar in the way we questioned things around us.
"Kyle, what would happen if we tomatoed the Dahlman's house?" Ryan asked as we sat on the curb, both of us sucking on a frozen Mr. Freezie juice strip. We sat there for awhile, imagining the old man, stomping out the screen door with his fist raised and yelling at us, threatening to call our mother. Eventually he'd go back inside after he realized he couldn't find us, even though we were crouching behind the nearby pines at the edge of his yard. Still waiting at least ...

A Day In The Life
... mood. The second question they ask is, “What time is dinner?”. Well, for the past 29 years I have been alive, dinner has always been served when dad stumbles in from the pub at 3 o’clock. I have asked all of my brothers why they insist on asking me this question, and they usually answer with the same conspiratorial laugh they have all used against me since my time began. I was never considered a cute little sister to be cuddled, but someone who was born to be the butt of their jokes.
Once I have showered and dressed, I venture into the kitchen to see if there is a quick breakfast that can be prepared betw ...

My cultural experiences in life taught me many of the great lessons in life. My Thai culture influenced me to become who I am. I believe that in order for a person to clearly understand their own culture, they have to go research and experience it themselves. Playing Thai traditional instrument manifests one of my researches. I learned to cooperate, function and focus with other people. I als ...

Leon High School Coach Billy Bob Evans
... he had. After a sort laugh he said, “ Well, I wanted to coach boys basketball because I love the level of competition it has. Then when I got to Leon the principal told me I had to coach volleyball.” I believe that it was fate when that principal told him that. During his forty six years of coaching Evans has won nine state championships, and has not been defeated in a district game since 1972.
A typical day in volleyball season is long, considering Evans coaches both high school and junior high. “We have hard practices each day, with a lot of running and fundamentals development. Mainly trying to improve as mu ...

Hobby And Sport
... He knew a bit of how to program, and taught me everything he
knew. I immediately became an addict to the new world of errorlevels,
internal and external commands etc. The first programs I made were simple
and useless. For example a sequence which generates random circles, at
random places, in random colors on the screen. Or a program which asks you
how old you are, and how many cigarettes you smoke everyday. Then it tells
you if you smoke too much. These programs are not useful because they don't
satisfy any of the two demands: 1) It doesn't fulfill any of my needs.
2)It's not suitable for a wider audience. ...

Personal Writing: Evil
... crude and hurtful. Those who are the target of his wisecracks are never amused. Nonetheless, it is all hilarious to the ones that listen to it.
He is always the main culprit on pranks. I don’t think that there has been one toilet paper job on someone’s house that he hasn’t been a part of. The pranks are definitely not limited to toilet paper. During my Christmas vacation at about 5:30 am one Saturday morning, my mother rudely awakened me to get out of bed and “clean all that *&^%$ up off the front lawn.” I immediately knew who had done it. I assumed that it was toilet paper for the third week in a ro ...

My Car Accident
... the car in front of me. When I came into looking at my surroundings I notice the smell of gas and burnt rubber.
The police had me step out of the car to look at the actual damages of the accident. My car was completely bleeding with fractures and broken parts. The bumper was folded underneath to my tires, the front lights were shattered and the front fenders were fractured with cracks everywhere. Officer Gage started to take my report :”I was adjusting my rear view mirror when I saw the flash of white, I realized it was a car and tried to brace myself if could not find a way around or to stop. He struck m ...

Creative Writing: Letter To Mom From Jewish Man During The Holocaust
... since that last day I have seen you, the last time I will have ever
seen life through a positive looking glass.
After being forced to leave my life behind, I was given a number
and was sent to live in a hostile. A man named Oscar Schlinder came up with
an idea to make lots of money. This is where we came in at. He hired Jews
to do labor for him, because it would be much cheaper. One day all of his
commandants threw a mass germicide in the ghetto and many were killed. I
thank God that I was a lucky survivor, but they ended up finding me, and I
