The Witness
... quickly snatched the sleeping boy from his bed, covering his mouth, and threw him into the waiting car. Joel stepped into the driver’s seat and eased the car off down the road.
The boy, Adam Martins had witnessed what was turning out to be the most important case in the state’s history, and after the FBI had uncovered the Mafia link they were left with no choice but to take Adam into safety. They presumed that the Mafia was watching every move made by Adam and his family, and the FBI couldn’t risk telling the boy’s mother or any other family members. Adam sat in the backseat, squeezed between two agents. He ...

The Green Light Café
... Ken Young, a man whose heart and desire for mischief dwarf small countries, joined in that night. Dominick James Parris, known to us as the writer of the group, shouldered the responsibility of lyricist. Children may know him as they study his poetry in their high school English classes someday. To me, he will always be Nick…or Funkula. Over a bottle of port, we created tunes until the shadows outside became trees and houses once again. Inspiration for a new song was never more than a glance to the sky away for Nick. He savored his forte- clever, witty social and spiritual observations. On this particular ni ...

Psychiatric Evaluation Of Guy Montag
... and
attentitive. At this time in the novel he seems to be battling with two
different people within his mind, due to the high amount of self-
conversation. Bio-chemical analysis may reveal a cranial disorder.
2. Background Of Family (hypothesize if necessary)
A) Mother
His Mother was a quick-thinker, she was usually apart from her son for
an unknown reason (perhaps work), we can deduce this from the time when
there was a blackout in his childhood, and Montag and his mother had a rare
quiet moment together.
B) Father
We can deduce that Montag's father wasn't very attentive to him,
perhaps because of hi ...

Creative Writing: Huck's Rebellion
... I wonder if this is what being sivilized does
to you?
Fifteen minutes had past and Aunt Sally lightly walked out of the
courtroom with a paper in her hand. She looked at me and smiled as if she
had no cares in the world. We left the building and started to walk back
to her house.
Aunt Sally says to me , “Now that you with me all your old ways are to
end”. “You will be starting school soon and I expect you to do as I say”.
I turned my head towards her and nodded. Little did she know what
kind of thoughts were going through my head at the time. After what she
had just said I don't think ...

Basketball
... get back downstairs. There
was a man who was already talking about where everything was and two other
people were passing around sheets of paper with rules, location of
basketball gym and cafetera, and some other information. After this there
was a small lunch, He told us That basketball would start at 8:00am
everyday for the next 13 days. I went to my room and when i got there the
door was open, I saw a tall black-skinned man with his back to me. I said
"Hey!" and then when he turned around i said what the hell are you doin? He
said "This is my room." then he said "let me see your key." i gave it to
him and he loo ...

Creative Essay: Captain Edward J. Smith On Trail For Sinking Of The Titanic
... of the news
stations across the world are preparing to film this case, so they can bring it
right to you on your television screens at home. The word is going around that
at least 65 news stations are scheduled to be in New York City covering this
major case.
Another big issue is who the jury members will be for this very
important case. Statistics show that the average number of days to select a
complete jury for a case of this importance should be about 2 1/2 weeks. The
judge must be sure that a variety of people are serving on the jury. Most
likely, there will be lots of confusion in the selection of these ...

The Farm Life
... house is always hotter than a cannon, as my dad would say in the winter , because of that stove. Also in the winter time he shovels his walkway and snow blows his driveway; he just got a new snow blower this year too. He is still very strong. As he would be because he used to run his farm. The farmhouse is still there but just a little bit broken down. Now he just lets a guy use his field for his cows to graze in. The fences still have electricity running in them and the barn has a lot of things in it. My grandfather has collected a lot of stuff over the years. He also has a very old snowmobile in there ...

Personal Writing: My Personal Opinion About Alien Life
... that some of the
holes in the pyramids on earth pointed to mars. So I like to think that the
Martian pyramids are the vestige of a long gone civilization that flew to
the earth because the Martian environment was too harsh and established
themselves as the Egyptians. But that is pure fantasy. Then again...
Apparently the discovery of microscopic bacteria has greatly inspired
Hollywood with already ten extra-terrestrial movies in the works including
five based on the planet mars with titles like "Mars lives!" and "The
Creators". What I find a bit strange is that the NASA announced the
discovery just before the ...

Creative Writing: My Grandfather
... strip trees to help build buildings, and he took care of
the horses. He later did chores around the house. He moved out of New Mexico
after John got killed by lightning. They lived in the poor part of the city.
The thing he remembers most about his mother is that she was a free spirit. His
dad left when he was three because he couldn't take care of any one, not even
himself. He recalled that John told lots of tall stories; something that
grandpa does often.
His first school was in California and it was a two room school house.
He had to walk home and there were water snakes in the gutters. One time when
he got ...

A Tragic Day
... borrowed her car. I left home around 5:10 p.m. and took interstate 275 south bound. The traffic flow was really calm until I passed Martin Luther King Blvd. After six to ten minutes of driving I switched from interstate 275 to interstate 4. By that time the traffic was very dense and I was very angry due to the previous events I was involved in.
It was a three lane highway and I was driving on the left lane, my exit was few minutes away and I knew that if I didn’t switch lanes rapidly I would have to drive two to three more miles on a very slow moving traffic. I decide to begin switching lanes, I successful ...
