“I Had Been Hungry, All The Years”
Part 1 of Paper ....sing symbolism and other language throughout the poem. It forms an effective picture despite what the reader chooses as the “Curious Wine”.
In the first stanza Dickinson set the conditions of the dream becoming reality. She uses “hungry” to show an intense want or desire for an unobtainable item. By placing “.... Part 2 of Paper .... as she touched the “Curious Wine” “’Twas this on Tables I had seen” tells of how she had seen wealth often, so her hunger was not for the unknown but the inexperienced. “Windows” tells of how she knew the wealth. She saw it but never touched it, she viewed it but never got an inch closer then she was the day before.
