Punk and Ska are two very popular styles of music right now and they both draw the same crowd, but they are very diverse. There are differences in the instruments, the way the guitars are played, and the number of people in each band. Both kinds of music are very popular but very different.

Punk bands have a lead guitar player, and sometimes a rhythm guitarist who backs up the lead guitarist. In ska, all the guitars make quick, snappy, upward strums and quickly palm mute the strings. All of the guitarists do the same thing, and occasionally someone will have a solo.
