The Wisdom Of Socrates
Part 1 of Paper ....ted his lack of scholarship and could come to terms with this idea. Nevertheless, in his own supposed ignorance he wished to prove that others were as ignorant as he but definitely not as wise. His end goal was to prove that the wisest men in Athens were not as wise as they believe and to institute a level of humility .... Part 2 of Paper ..... He was his own defense and put Meletus, his accuser, on the stand and asked him a series of questions. He first convinces Meletus to say that Socrates is the only person in Athens that corrupts the youth and that everyone else makes them good citizens. He then uses an analogy to horses where he explains that in this case only a few men can make horses better, but the unskilled majority of men can only do harm to horses. He then points out that the young would be very fortunate if everyone made.... |
