Film Development
Part 1 of Paper ....rimarily it is used to develop Super 8mm
and 16mm film. This recipe is stolen and reworked from those directions
provided by Alex Mackenzie, who regularly runs workshops on hand-processing
at his Blinding Light Cinema in Vancouver. Alex is a dear friend of the
family and a chief reason why I am now looking into filmmak.... Part 2 of Paper ....ce you are working with double the amount of film.
What you need is: A bucket, a pair of gloves, and a dark room. The
dark room can be a bathroom with all the windows taped up. Light leaks in a
room can totally destroy film, giving it a foggy appearance, thus making it
foggy in the audiences mind also.You also need D-19 Developer, R-9 Bleach,
Clearing Bath and Fixer. D-19, Clearing Bath and Fixer can be purchased at
most photo stores. The Bleach may have to be scratch mixed depending on the
