Creative Writing: Slave Story
Part 1 of Paper
....rgia owned us. We lived on a big farm and the family pertained two adults, and two kids. There were at least 7 of us slaves. My father and I worked out in the fields picking cotton. Some of us worked outside while the rest of us worked inside doing household chores.

.... said that she died in the course of having me. I felt sad because I felt it was my fault she died. Father said it was nobody’s fault and that he’s very happy I was born. And that he’s happy I am his daughter. Dad said she was beautiful and kind. He has no pictures of her because he was never allowed to have a camera. She worked on the farm with dad and she got pregnant. The white people allowed them to have a child. I was surprised. Especially if they won’t let you read or writ.... |
