Euclid: The Elements
Part 1 of Paper ....ever little is known of him other than he taught at Alexandria in Egypt. It is also known that he put together the elements, arranging in order many of Eudoxus's, perfecting many of Theaetetus's, and also bringing demonstrated things that had only been loosely proved by his predecessors. There is other information .... Part 2 of Paper .... hard to find information concerning Euclid of Alexandria since there are references to numerous men called Euclid in the history of this period.
There is nothing consistent in the dating given about when Euclid did all of his work but a person by the name of Itard said that situation is best summed up by the fowling three variables:
(i) Euclid was a historical character who wrote the Elements and the other works attributed to him.
