Findley's The Wars: Analysis
Part 1 of Paper ....never gets to go back home. The novel focuses around a boy named Robert Ross who gets involved in the First World War and realizes that war was not at all what he thought it would be. Robert experiences one tragedy after another as almost all of his friends die off and finally Robert passes away as well. After being.... Part 2 of Paper ....iers went through in that time. Robert had to frequently deal with the death and mutilation of his friends and fellow soldiers. He also experienced the horrors on the battlefield, for example when “chlorine and phosgene”(p.75) was used at the beginning and “mustard gas”(p.75) was unleashed on the soldiers at the end of the battle of “Ypres”(p.73) and the witnessing of men dying before your eyes.
