Warren Harding
Part 1 of Paper ....ion. When he was 14, he entered Ohio Central College. He graduated after two years with a bachelor’s degree in science. He and two of his friends acquired a small town paper, the Marion Star. In five years the star became the foremost paper and most successful small town papers in Ohio. In 1914 the Star was earn.... Part 2 of Paper ....y after the progressive party split of 1912. Harding ran for president initially in 1920 and that was as a favorite son in order to solidify his position in the Ohio Republican ranks. When a deadlock developed at the convention between the supporters of Leonard Wood and Frank O. Lowden, Harding was adopted as the compromise candidate. The Republican nomination in 1920 as the Democratic Party nationally was suffering from unpopular wartime policies and developments.
