The Landsats Satellites
Part 1 of Paper ....epartment of Interior in the mid-1960’s. On July 23, 1972, NASA launched the first Landsat Satellite. It was designed to take provide images of the earth’s land masses. It used a Nimbus platform that was modified to carry sensor systems and data relay equipment. The satellite surprised everyone by lasting 4 yea.... Part 2 of Paper ....icrometers. The three bands are co-registered and have a ground resolution of 20m. The panchromatic mode images data in the spectral range .51-.73 micrometers at a sampling interval of 10m.
