Why The Civil War Was Unavoidable

The United States started off by trying to settle their differences through
compromises. In the beginning of the 1960's, however, differences became
so great that not even a compromise brought an agreement on issues. The
Union and Confederate states were then forced to battle i.... Part 2 of Paper .... United States was the taxes being put on the imported goods
coming in. When the tariff bill was passed, it hurt the South because it
increased the prices on all of the imports coming in from Europe. The
North wanted the South to buy things from them and not Europe, this angered
the South causing yet another major difference that made the Civil War
unavoidable. Again the South thought they were getting the bad part of all
