Lions
... jaws. The roar, which can be heard by humans up to 9 (5.6 miles) kilometers away, is usually uttered before the animals hunt in the evening, after a successful hunt, and again in the early morning.
Habitat & Human Impact
once ranged throughout Africa and from Europe to Iran and India. By 1900 were no longer found in Syria; today Asiatic are limited to the Gìr Sanctuary in India. also roam Africa south of the Sahara, particularly the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania and the Kruger National Park in South Africa. This drastic reduction in range came about as humans and domestic livestock spread into savanna ...

Radio Waves
... waves can be defined by their
frequency (in hertz, after Heinich Hertz , who first produced radio waves
electronically), which is number of times they pass through a complete cycle per
second; or by their wavelength, which is determined by the distance (by meters)
that is traveled from the crest of one wave to the crest of the next.
Radio frequencies are measured in units called kilohertz, megahertz, and
gigahertz. (1 kilohertz = 1000 hertz : 1 megahertz = 106 hertz, 1 gigahertz =
109 hertz). All radio waves fall within a frequency range of 3 kilohertz, or
3000 cycles per second to 30 gigahertz. Within the ra ...

... durability. These uses fit in with the social climate of the time, because the main focus was on survival rather than for psychoactive purposes. During the prohibition, marijuana was widely used because of the scarcity of alcohol. Prohibition was repealed after just thirteen years while the prohibition against marijuana lasted for more than seventy five years. This double standard may have resulted from the wishes of those in power. Alcohol prohibition struck directly at tens of millions of Americans of all ages, including many of societies most powerful members. Marijuana prohibition threatened far fewer Americans, ...

Eagles 2
... Females are larger, some reaching 14 pounds and having a wingspan of up to 8 feet. This striking raptor has large, pale eyes; a powerful yellow beak; and great, black talons. The distinctive white head and tail feathers appear only after the bird is 4 to 5 years old.
Bald eagles are believed to live 30 years or longer in the wild, and even longer in captivity. They mate for life and build huge nests in the tops of large trees near rivers, lakes, marshes, or other wetland areas. Nests are often reused year after year. With additions to the nests made annually, some may reach 10 feet across and weigh as much as 2,00 ...

Ozone Depletion
... and Crandall npg). Carbon tetrachloride
is one of the major components in making CFC so their damage is similar. When
they inter the outer atmosphere, They react with ozone chemicals to release
chlorine and bromine that in turn deteriorate the ozone and form "thinning" or
"holes." This is catastrophic because they are bonded very strongly together
and cannot be broken down by water. This means they travel into the atmosphere
virtually unharmed by rain or decomposition (Goldfarb 282).
The reason these are causing such a commotion is the damage they cause
to living things on Earth. When the ozone depletes, ...

Censorship
... our younger viewers because helps to filter out the appearances of nudity, real life violence, the use of profanity and other obscene gestures during the youth viewing hours. However, during the prime time viewing hours it’s a different story. The method the television stations use is a mere waste of time and money because a little symbol in the corner of the screen is not going to prevent a child from watching the program. The only way this method can work is if the
parents/guardian is there to change the channel but let’s be realistic, how many parents/guardians actuarially have the time to monitor everythin ...

Photosynthesis
... and water to glucose and oxygen possible. It was Jan Ingenhouz
with Jean Senebier in Geneva that founded the basic gist of the theory of
photosynthesis in plants.
My experiment involves testing different brands of plant food on plants
to see what brand of plant food makes the plant grow the tallest. I will test
three types of plant food on three sets of plants and one set with no food. I
will water the plants all the same amount and let all the plants get the same
amount of sun, then measure the height of all the plants at the end of six weeks
and record the data.
The first step of photosynthesis is the a ...

Aluminium
... oxides in Aluminium oxide tint it to make it form stones (often precious)
for example: chronium gives a red colour to rubies, and cobalt makes the blue in
sapphires.
How Aluminium deposits are formed
Aluminium (like many other metals) is not found in it's pure form, but
associated with other elements in rocks and minerals. An aluminosilicate such as
felspar (KAlSi3O8) is the main constituent of many rocks such as granite, which
is quartz and mica cemented together with felspar. These rocks are gradually
weathered and broken down by the action of carbon-dioxide from the air dissolved
in rainwater forming ‘kaol ...

In Vitro Fertilization
... are six major steps in the process: monitoring the development of ripening eggs in a woman’s ovaries, collecting the eggs, collecting the sperm, incubation of the egg and sperm in a laboratory, transferring the embryo to the uterus, and waiting for pregnancy or menstruation. When a couple is unable to conceive, another woman must donate her eggs to the couple in order for IVF to succeed. To retrieve eggs from the donor, an IVF doctor will first treat the donor with fertility drugs to control the timing of the egg release and the chance of collecting more than one egg. This process is called ...

What is the use of inmates on death row? They are just going to die anyway. They should have a choice to do something good first for man kind. I think a several people would volunteer because if scientists find a cure for something the inmate would be known as a hero. I do not think they should make them do it because they have rights too. Inmates should be able to do it if they want. The inmates should be asked that question by the judge when they are being sentenced for their crime.
I understand that there is another opinion to this debate. I can almost understand why they would believe in . ...
