The Conspiracy Behind The Beatles
... outfits that coordinated
with one another and polished shoes were soon to be seen as a trend.
Within the Beatles career though many conspiracies arouse. The most
remembered of all of them was the conspiracy on Paul McCartney's death.
In 1969 Russell Gibb, a Detroit radio Disc Jockey, announced that
Paul McCartney, a member of the Beatles, had died. He claimed he had
received a phone call about it and evidence could be found within their
albums. Both other radio stations and the media picked up on the rumor,
and it spread quickly. As the word spread, the story also got changed.
Two different stories are ...

Mandolin player Bill Monroe is viewed as the father of bluegrass.
His band, the Bluegrass Boys, began to play regularly on the Grand Ole Opry
radio program in Nashville, Tennessee in 1939. By 1945, Monroe's band
included Earl Scruggs, who popularized the characteristic three-fingered
banjo picking style, guitarist Lester Flatt, and fiddler Chubby Wise.
The Scottish-Irish music of southern Appalachia was a powerful form
of entertainment as folks gathered in the evenings to dance and socialize.
It was what people back then loved. The ...

Audio Format Wars
... are
currently two formats competing to be the consumers next choice for sound on the
go. They are Philips' Digital Compact Cassette (DCC) and Sony's Mini Disc (MD).
What exactly is digital recording? The definition is, "An electronic
format that is designed to duplicate sound, while affording extremely accurate
control over any changes you might wish to make in the recording" (Mclan &
Wichman,1988). In simple terms it means that the digital circuitry samples the
signal and then reproduces what it has seen. The quality of the recording
depends on the sampling rate of the machine. The sampled signal is then ...

Comparison Between Piano Concert By Barbara Wieman And Sacramento Chamber Orchestra
... fluctuating dynamics. It was as if the crescendo was
not allowed to climax, then is aborted by a sudden change to pianissimo. The so
called Beethoven motif was used throughout the piece, very effectively I might
add. Barbara Wieman was very animated performing this piece and seemed to be
very emotional while playing. This piece was very distinct and there was an
effective use of rests that was displayed. I would call this piece very serious.
After Beethoven we were treated to F. Schuberts Impromptu in G flat Major, Op.
90, No.3. This piece was very pleasing to the ear so we could call this
consonant. The music seem ...

... all very different. The poor people wear
traditional Victorian clothes. The women wear long dresses. The wealthy
women carry parasols. The men wear old fashioned suits. One of the
characters is a sailor and he wears a Victorian Naval uniform.
The sets are fairly elaborate. Sweeney's barber shop is above the
bakery. His barber chair flips back to send the dead bodies of his victims
downstairs so Mrs. Lovett can prepare them for the pies.
My favorite song is the title song, "The Demon Barber of Fleet
Street". It tells the story of Sweeney Todd.
Although what Sweeney Todd does is wrong, I did feel sorry for ...

History Of Rock And Roll
... This emphasized electric
guitars, harmonicas, and drummers who emphasized after beats (beats 2 and 4 of
the measure). Black gospel music was very popular and given the label of
rhythm and blues (R&B). This music was carried on radio and popular with the
disc jockeys.
In the mid 50's, Chuck Berry and Little Richard were popular and changed
the face of music, which was named rock and roll by the D.J.'s.

and triggered the notoriously heated 'is rave dead' debate. Amid all the
furore it was easy to miss the fact that Charly was one of the most
successful dance records of the time, and far better than any of the
opportunist tunes that came in it's wake. Twenty-two year old Liam Howlett

other members who contribute to the live performance - Maxim Reality,
Leeroy Thornhill and Keith Flint Liam was onc ...

The Beatles And The Sex Pistols: A Study
... by many to be the best in the history of rock 'n' roll. They began as a group who would play in pubs and try their best to entertain the crowd. They made it to America in 1964 and swept the world off its feet with Beatlemania. Their musical style changed throughout the years as much as their physical appearance did. A whole generation looked up to them and their cultural impact can still be felt today.
The Sex Pistols are the most notorious band of all time. They lightning bolted onto the scene and then were gone equally as fast. However, they were to have an impact on popular music that hadn't been felt ...
