POW #12: The Big Knight Switch
... those guidelines I was set to attempt to find if it were possible
for the knights to switch places with each other, following only the guidelines
above.
PROCESS:
In first approaching this POW, I reviewed for what it was exactly this
POW was asking for, making a clear mental image of the POW embed itself into my
mind. After carefully re-reading the POW and its guidelines, I had a somewhat
solid idea of how to approach it.
I first made a custom 3x3 chess board, and included the chess pieces
(two black and two white). I placed each in their appropriate sections and

Thin Clients
... is better for your organization, PC or thin-client?
Thin-client computing now offers real hope for progress. The state of affairs described above is like a fat pitch don the middle of home plate, just begging for thin-client computing proponents to smack it out of the park. When it comes to total cost of ownership for desktop computing services, thin-client computing is a bottom-line winner. Yes users will have to five up some control of their desktops. Any yes, administrators will need to learn a new approach to application deployment. But the payback is so clear; ’ arrival is almost inevitable.

... problems coming up with a response. My parents were born in México, and thus, they are Mexican. Sometimes I feel I belong here in the United States, but other times I feel more attached to México. I am a Mexican-American. However, I feel that I am denying in some way my heritage and my culture by saying that I am. I am denying my parents. I say that I’m Mexican because in a sense I am. I am also an American. I am a Mexican-American. What do these terms put together imply? They should imply that the person is Mexican and American. The term “Mexican-American” is the very reason why I find myself c ...

Kanflict: How Humans Have Risen Above The Divine
... desire, primarily, to be happy.
To be moral means adhering to codes of goodness and selflessness.
This might involve running into a burning building to rescue a child. This
doesn't make one happy, because one doesn't say, "I could die or I could live.
Ya know, I think I'll take the first option…Yippee." This seems ludicrous, that
one would chose the good of one over the good of another, and not chose yourself.
But this is what elevates us above the rest of the life on the planet, that we
will chose to serve the laws of morality and justice, while putting aside one's
own happiness.

Philosophy Of Education
... throughout the year. I will let my students decide where they
want my desk. All the walls will be decorated with the student’s choice of
drawings and homework, only if approved by school codes. I believe that a
room like this creates conversation, gives students a sense of freedom,
and helps you gain their respect.
The way I would like to teach would be like my room, unique. My
main emphasis in teaching would be to grasp the student’s interests. If
you interest a student in their assignments their knowledge will expand.
The material that I will cover will become entertaining. If I can teach

A Breif History Of Comics
... draw Hogan's Alley for Hearst's Journal. The World continued publication of the strip using a new artist, and both papers were featuring the "Yellow kid." This led to people referring to the two papers as the yellow papers. And as the battle between the press lords became more intense, people began calling it yellow journalism which now has come to mean overly sensational journalism. Although Outcault won the battle over the rights of "Yellow kid," the mass marketing began. The cartoon was everywhere. Products were being produced, even cigars, bearing the "yellow kid."
