Why I Hate The Mall
... and every one of them have air freshners which
are so putrid smelling, they make one long for the odor of a New York City
cabbie's "natural cologne". After enduring ten minutes of the cabbie's "lemme
tell ya what's wrong with this country", I finally get to my destination.
As soon as I got there, I began to think about how sad it is that the
mall has very much become a part of American life. The Chinese have their rice,
we have our malls. Does anyone else see a problem with having over one-thousand
of these gaudy monstrosities across the country? Despite the fact that the era
of eighties-decadence has passed, t ...

Creative Writing: A Dream Come True
... going to
bite me? No, it just licked my cheek. Even before it finished licking my cheek,
I came to my senses. I didn't understand what I dreamt about. After thinking
about the dream for about ten minutes a went back to sleep.
By next morning I had forgotten all about the dream. That morning , I
was late as usual. I ran to the bus stop with my briefcase. My tie flew in the
morning wind. Only thing that I hoped was that I would not be late to work, I
had been warned couple of times about me being late. Luckily the bus too was
late as usual.
As I was boarding the bus I looked up for a vacant seat. What I saw then

Personal Writing: Game Over
... released the ball with a firm push I stuck my hand out in hopes for a
steal, SNAP! As the ball was deflected towards the right my man ran and picked
it up. I quickly looked down at my finger and with fear and pain walked over to
my bench. My pinkie-finger on my right hand was at a ninety degree angle, as
sweat dripped down may face I could feel myself getting hot. My stomach seemed
to drop and I was feeling as if I was on a roller coaster. The game had been
stopped and I was brought into the coaches room. My assistant coach led me into
the room and sat me down on a wooden chair. I began to feel very cold, an ...

... and “shake left “ to be the conditioned stimulus (CS) and the raising of the appropriate paw to be the conditioned response (CR). I will condition the unconditioned response (UCR), shaking; the unconditioned stimulus (UCS), tapping his leg, by using operant conditioning and liver treats as positive reinforcement.
Day 1: I began by acting like I was going to grab Max’ head. Just as I suspected he put his paw on my arm. I tapped his leg and I gave him a treat as a positive reinforcer. I am using operant conditioning at this point in order to establish an unconditioned stimulus (taping Max’ leg) and an uncon ...

Quarry Hill
... or "Rudy is a funny guy".
"I don't know, what do you want to do?" I offered to both Tom and Rudy.
"I don't know, what can we do?" Asked a frustrated Rudy. I looked up
to the stars and tried to think. Finally an idea excited me enough to
actually say something.
"I know! Lets go to the Quarries in Uxbridge and go swimming! I've
never been and I hear it's a cool place!"
"Yeah!" It was clear to me that Rudy is a quick thinker -- I barely
finished my idea before he was in agreement. "Come on Tom, lets go to the
Quarries!" Rudy said to get a response out of him. Tom -- still in his

Personal Writing: Friendships
... my personal experiences with them.
I found many of those people who I enjoy to be with because we
share that common ground that lets you be yourself and feel comfortable.
It really feels good to gave friends on the same level as you.
Friendship is a very personal and unique thing. No two relation
between any two people will ever be the same because only those people know
what they have been through or shared together. This is what makes
friendship such an exceptional thing.
A large part of friendship is learning lessons together, and for
almost everything in the world there is a lesson that must be learned.

Books; Life Long Friends
... in friends ever since. Now as an adult, I see Belle in friends like Tiffany,
Rachelle and it seems my favorite characters in my books have always reminded me
a bit of Belle. Belle had a profound effect on me in childhood as well as
later on in life. She was my finest friend throughout grammar and Junior High
school. We fancied relishing our lunches together. Laughing about the boys'
wicked ways and planning our revenge at the ensuing recess. This always made
lunch go by so swiftly. It was hard to tear us apart. Hell, it was hard to
tell us apart. We were both round bodied and a bit out of shape. But I ...

Creative Story: The Lake
... my brother and I snuck to their backyard like two
undercover police officers, until we were in the clear. Nerve-wracking minutes
later, flowed the emerald green and ever-so lively lake in front of us. We
stopped and starred in awe. The lake had appeared so shiny and reflective, it
resembled a finely-cut diamond. The rare and distinct fragrance enticed us. It
smelled like mother-nature herself, with aromas ranging from wildlife and wet
grass, to evaporated swamp water and healthy dirt.
Then, the time for us to find the desired vessel arrived. We chose the
kayaks, and set out for the water. Carefully, with our ...

Heilner's "Beneath The Wheel" And Me
... Chris. Just as
religiously as I relaxed during the period, Chris would be diligently
working. Chris and I did not have much in common, but one thing we did
share was our Algebra II class that followed the lunch period. Most days
Chris would still be studying while I was on the way out of the cafeteria.
One day in particular, the bell that marks the end of the lunch period had
just rung, and I was heading out for Ms. Henyon's math class. I saw up
ahead of me, Chris frantically flipping through his Algebraic Concepts text
book. I approached Chris and asked: "Did we have any homework we were
supposed to do?"

Creative Writing: Spawn
... was close now, and the spawn's soulless eyes peered into the room
from the doors barred window. Standing over a bench stood a man. An old man,
gnarled with age and working on an intricate machine. To a mortal man the sight
would appear ludicrous. An old, befuddled man could hardly attract the attention
of such a powerful warrior. But to the spawns eyes, he only saw the truth.
He didn't see the lines of age which covered the man's face. Nor did he see
the disfigured spine which pushed the man's back into a painful composure. But
he did see the beast within.
To the spawn, what stood in the other room had n ...
