Creative Writing: John Griffith Biography
... borrowed books of adventure, travel, and sea voyages.
At fourteen, I left school to lead a wandering and adventurous life, so I
thought. Jobs were hard to find but I was employed by the fish patrol in San
Francisco Bay. Imagine hopping on every boat that pulls into the bay and
counting the number of fish on board and having to write fines to the sailors
that had too many fish. This sure wasn't a popular job in the bay area. I was
smart enough to figure I could be on the other side of the law and rob and steal
vessels so I became an oyster pirate.
I had a real passion for the sea and so in 1893 I took ...

A Passage Of Time
... next several days. Abruptly, he rose and began walking to the kitchen.
In his own, almost mechanical way, he opened the refrigerator, removed a
drink, carried it to the counter, opened it, removed the tab, placed the
tab in a recycling bag, took one small drink and returned to his waiting
seat in the bedroom. These rituals and set patterns were something that
had always given Bradley a structure in his life, they had always
maintained themselves as an unwavering constant. But most importantly, they
were carried out slowly, and in the current times of speed and fast results,
it was very reassuring to be able to ...

Creative Writing: There Isn't Much Time
... me to work more efficiently; there were emergencies; and there were other
important things. Some of these reasons sounds legitimate, but I think these
reasons are just excuses for people's fear of failure, fear of lost security,
and need for pressure.
Back high school, I had a friend, Eric, who dropped out of school
because of bad grades. As his friend, I knew he was doing fine until the period
of final exams. He was a smart and responsible person which laziness is not a
factor of his bad grades. Eric could not pick up the books soon enough before
the exam because he was afraid of failure. Since Eric's ol ...

Creative Story: Lonely
... get married.
As Keith sat there, now thinking about his new, red truck, he noticed
his shoe was untied. He stretched down to retie it and saw a small card beside
his foot. Funny, he hadn't noticed it there before. Maybe it blew up in the
breeze. Yes that's what happened, the wind had blown it there when he was off
in dreamland. Oh well, he thought and then he picked it up. The card had
printing on it. It simply read, "go look in your mail box". Keith gave out a
small chuckle and thought about his mailbox. Was someone joking around with
him? It was probably that pesky neighbor boy, James. He was alw ...

The Hurt Of Others
... including Fred, really hurt his feelings.
By this time it was almost the end of the school year, and our class had to move on to another school. The last day came around and we all said our goodbyes. I saw Fred leaving so I ran up to him and we stood talking. As we were talking, I felt sorry for having alienated him. As we departed we, promised we would get together over the summer. I called him once or twice, but we were unable to get together. When I entered grade ten, I found I was making more new friends, forgetting about Fred. Later I had found Fred had buried himself with crime, getting into a lot of tr ...

Personal Writing: Good Art
... with some of his friends,
but the rain kept us inside. We weren’t sure on what to do, so we decided
to watch a movie and that is when I saw the best movie I have ever seen in
my life. We watched a movie called Scream. It was a movie that had
recently come out of the theaters and was now on video cassette. I didn’t
go see it in the theater, but I heard that it was a pretty cool movie. We
sat there and watched it and when it was done I was in awe. All I could
say was “that is the best movie in history!”
In my mind, the movie was perfect. It was full of everything that
I like in a movie. It had myst ...

"Yes, I'm fine young man." the old man replied. "I haven't seen you
around here before, you must be new on the island."
"Yes Sir."
"Let me introduce myself. I'm Tom John Smith, the lookout. And you

"George Mason, I've come here to try and make a life as a pirate."
"Well, do you have a boat?" asked Tom
"No, I came in a boat used in a British trade route."
"Then the first thing you've got to do is get yourself a boat."
"That's for sure, do you know where I might find a boat for sale?"
"That all depends on how much money you have." Tom said.
"That's why I want to be a pi ...

Creative Writing: The Dream
... that they go out on.
It's a Saturday morning and Bobby has nothing to do. He asked his
dad if he wanted to go fishing because they hadn't been all week. His dad
refused because of the bad weather. Bobby kept on begging, but his dad
told him he wouldn't change his mind. He was getting really mad at his dad
because he really wanted to go.
So instead of waiting a few days until the weather got better he
decided he would take the boat out by himself. He told his dad that he was
going to his friend Justin's house, but instead he took the boat keys and
went to their boat. His dad let him drive it all the time, so ...

Graduation 1999
... posts orange with spray paint, or whatever else was available. Or when the basketball team made it all the way to the state championships and most of the students went down to watch the game even though it was 300 miles away. When you start to remember all of these fond memories its like you can’t stop them all from all coming back at once. You also realize that this might be the very last time that you see many of these people, most of them will end up going off to college and moving away. Its sad when you realize that all of these events will be gone forever and all that is left is the memories you have of th ...
