Rock And Roll 2
... blues, country and birthed what is now called "Rock and Roll."
Parents did not like nor believed in it at all. Some adults called it the devils music. Yet the youth of America loved and stood up for it. Th old nagging parents got rid of the music, but bot for long. In the 1960's rock and roll made a huge revival.
"Repots of its demise were highly exaggerated,” said Gale Research. All that hated it, also hated the famous radio station WINS. WINS, was the first radio station to broadcast rock and roll. They were only in it for the music. By the time WINS was part of the revival, the famous, unforgettable 196 ...

Wilmont Proviso was to ban slaves from territories that might gbe aquired from Mexico. Kansas- Nebraska Act was the result of Douglas wanting to build railroads from Chicago to San Franciso. The Movie Bugsy
... Hall-Annette Benning –Bugsy’s love interest
Mickey Cohen-Harvey Keitel –Bugsy’s right hand
Harry Greenberg-Elliot Gould –Bugsy’s friend from NY
Meyer Lansky-Ben Kingsley –Bugsy’s boss
Warren Beatty was the main character in this film. Virginia Hill was Bugsy’s love interest. These two actors did a wonderful job of acting in a manner congruent with the times of the 40’s. The cast was sprinkled with tremendous talent such as Harvey Keitel, Ben Kingsley, and Elliot Gould. As a whole I think the cast did a magnificent job taking the viewers to an era of America, which is not eas ...

Modern Music
... upset, angry, or calm. Music touches people’s souls, and gets the best or worst out of them.
My friend Kyle said, “When I am in a bad mood I listen to basically rap because it gets me hyped up to where I want to dance. Rap lets me get into a better mood where I can forget the problem or what I was mad at before.” He continues, “No other music affects me as much as rap does because rappers put everything they have into their songs, but that is only my opinion.” Kyle has listened to rap since he was 13, and he actually got me interested into it. I never liked rap until I started to hang out with him, and ...

World Art
... Stone Age, The Bronze Age, and The Iron Age. These four Great Ages is the complete history of art from the beginning to the present day. Each age is named characteristically for the type of material used for that time. Stone was used in the Old and New Stone age, bronze in the Bronze Age, and iron in the Iron Age.
The Great Ages began with The Old Stone Age starting at 100,000 BCE. The people lived in tribes and clans and often moved from place to place, hunting and gathering to live. They believed all life was sacred and all beings were divine, including animals. The tribal teachings taught that man and natur ...

Charlie Parker At Storyville
... this set the solos are packed full of notes. The tempo may be slow yet the soloist fills the spaces full of notes. Examples of these are "I'll Walk Alone" and "Don't Blame Me."
A song from this set I especially like is the song "Cool Blues." It is very complex yet fun to listen to. I love to hear Parker play his horn. He really is a master. This piece is in a 12 bar blues form. There is a short intro by Charlie Parker on the sax. Then Herb Pomeroy and Parker play once through the chorus. The trumpet and sax together here sound really fabulous. The two match each other with amazing accuracy. Fol ...

The Baroque Era
... struggling,
and dramatically lighted. Paintings of the Baroque Era focused more on
dramatic subjects and experimented with dramatic lighting.
The Baroque Era was concerned with feelings, the stronger the
better. This could be seen throughout the churches. In church structure
the proportions are grandiose, they are designed to impress and awe the
observers. Gold and rich textures and surfaces can be seen all through the
churches.
All of these themes that I have discussed are also clear in the music
of the Baroque period. It paints pictures of vibrant colours and triggers
strong emotions. The des ...

Romanticism In Music
... also meant new ideas. During this period a number of advances in music were made. With new industrial processes, valves were added to the already existing trumpet, thus making it a more useful aid in musical composition. Also, the saxophone was invented and pianos could now be made better. A steel frame was added to them and their strings would become those of a better quality giving a better and more brilliant sound.
In the musical world, new opportunities were being brought about. Most importantly, music was being brought from the church into the concert hall. There were also more chances for instrumental ...

... men in social harmony.
In the introduction to his speech, Dr. King uses many parallels between his speech and Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation speech in an attempt to honor him for the steps he took to abolish slavery. He delivers his speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in a step to show appreciation for the late presidents actions to bring about more civil rights in the past. Second, Dr. King uses a similar style of speech that Lincoln used in his Proclamation address such as the use of the word “score” instead of saying twenty years. In the introduction, Dr. King also gives a ch ...

History Of Greek Theater
... The two worlds were not separate, as the gods lived in the same world
as the men, and they interfered in the men's lives as they chose to.
It was the gods who sent suffering and evil to men. In the plays of
Sophocles, the gods brought about the hero's downfall because of a
tragic flaw in the character of the hero.
In Greek tragedy, suffering brought knowledge of worldly
matters and of the individual. Aristotle attempted to explain how an
audience could observe tragic events and still have a pleasurable
experience. Aristotle, by searching the works of writers of Greek ...
